Welcome to AMERICAN MAHJONG 101: Introduction to the Game Workshop with our
Specialty Guest Instructor, Suzy from Palos Verdes Mahjong!

Join instructor Suzy H from Palos Verdes Mahjong for a fun and welcoming introduction to this classic, social game.
In this beginner-friendly workshop we will introduce brand new players to the basics of American Mahjong
using rules from the National Mah Jong League.
You’ll learn tile meanings, essential Mahjong vocabulary, how to read the National Mahjong League Card, and how to build winning hands.
Suzy teaches in a clear, supportive way that helps new players feel comfortable and confident at the table.
Participants will practice gameplay, learn simple strategies, and play through a full game together.
Each attendee receives a Mahjong 101 lesson packet to continue practicing as well as a 2026 Official National Mahjong League Card.
Come solo or bring friends!
This workshop is perfect for beginners
Guests should arrive 15 minutes early to get settled.
Workshop can run 2-2.5 hours depending on play!
*Minimum of 4 guests or the class may be rescheduled.
Registration fee is $85 per person (including a 2026 Official National Mahjong League Card).
No promotions allowed on this specialty class.

Class Size Policy:
We require a minimum of 4 guests to hold this workshop as scheduled. We will contact you if the class needs to be postponed and will issue you a class voucher in the full amount you originally paid. You will be able to use your class voucher for any future class at AR Workshop Torrance.
Refund Policy:
*Due to the custom nature of our projects and business, we do not offer refunds.
*We understand emergencies happen. If you cannot attend on the class date you registered for, please call 310-893-7553 or email us at torrance@arworkshop.com ASAP and we will be happy to transfer your registrations for a future class.
*We will waive the transfer fee if notice was received MORE THAN 72 hours from your class date
*Notice received LESS THAN 72 hours from your class date will be charged a $15 transfer fee, unless COVID related.
*Guests who do not email or contact us prior to class starting are considered a no show and forfeit their registration fee.
