Meet Mahj in Bloom: A New Mahjong Tile Collection from Anders Ruff

Posted Wednesday, September 30, 2026

Mahjong game nights just got a whole lot prettier! Our sister brand, Anders Ruff Design Co., has officially launched its newest Mahjong tile collection, and it is blooming with beautiful details. Introducing Mahj in Bloom, a romantic new Mahjong tile set inspired by old-world garden elegance. With painterly pink numerals, lush peonies, delicate botanicals, fluttering butterflies, graceful birds, jewel-toned details, and elegant gold accents, this collection turns every hand into a garden party.

A Mahjong Set Made for Beautiful Game Nights

Mahj in Bloom was designed for the Mahjong player who believes the table can be just as beautiful as the game itself. Each tile features intricate details that make this set something you’ll want to admire even between rounds.

The Craks feature soft, painterly pink numerals, while the Bams transform into delicate botanical stems with a graceful bird featured on the One Bam. The Dots take a whimsical turn as colorful butterflies in teal, raspberry, and blush.

The Winds are accented with elegant gold lettering, butterflies, and blooms, while the Flowers feature lush peonies in shades of pink and cream. Even the Jokers have a special surprise, each crowned with a tiny golden bee.

And because the details matter, every tile is finished with an intricate gold baroque border and backed in vintage aqua with a delicate gold butterfly. The result is a Mahjong tile collection that feels collected, feminine, timeless, and ready for your next game night.

Bring Your Own Style to Mahjong Night

At AR Workshop, we love anything that turns gathering with friends into an experience, which is one reason Mahjong has become such a fun addition to the game-night scene. Many AR Workshop locations offer Open Play Nights, giving makers the opportunity to gather, create, socialize, and enjoy time together around the table. While Mahjong isn’t the focus of every Open Play Night, the creative, social spirit behind these gatherings makes us especially excited about beautiful Mahjong setups. And of course, we can’t resist the opportunity to add a little DIY to the mix. Think personalized Mahjong table signs, decorative trays, serving pieces, hostess gifts, or other custom touches to make your next Mahjong gathering feel uniquely yours. A beautiful tile set paired with handmade or personalized decor can turn an ordinary game night into an event your friends will look forward to.

Mahj in Bloom Is Made for the Mahjong Lover

The new Mahj in Bloom collection is designed to coordinate with an entire collection of matching Mahjong accessories, including a mat, tablecloth, card cover, and other coordinating pieces from Anders Ruff Design Co. The tile set includes 160 premium acrylic tiles, a coordinating luxury storage case with soft gold hardware, and a matching dice set with its own storage pouch. And there’s one more important detail to know: Mahj in Bloom is a preorder and is being produced in a limited run. Current orders are expected to begin shipping in mid-January 2027, with preorders shipping in the order they are received. If you have a Mahjong-loving friend, a regular game-night group, or simply love collecting beautiful tabletop pieces, this is one collection worth reserving early.

Make Your Next Mahjong Night Your Own

Whether you’re gathering around the table for a friendly game, hosting an Open Play Night, or adding your own DIY touches to a Mahjong-inspired gathering, we love seeing the ways our creative community makes game night their own. And when your table is covered in butterflies, peonies, gold details, and a beautiful set of Mahjong tiles, we think you have the makings of a pretty unforgettable night.
