Featured Owners: AR Workshop Chandler

We’re headed to the Grand Canyon State (virtually) this week to introduce you to the owners of AR Workshop Chandler. Arizona is no stranger to the DIY fun that can be had at an AR Workshop. AR Workshop Chandler is currently one of 4 locations in the state. It is always fun to get to know each owner, or in this case, set of owners, and hear about their unique backgrounds and passions that led to pursuing their DIY entrepreneurial dreams! We invite you to read on for more information about this week’s featured owners! If you’re headed to Chandler, stop in and visit this location at 404 W. Ray Road, #D-7! You’ll see a workshop abuzz with the crafting of gorgeous wood framed signs, canvas wall art, wood centerpieces and picture frames, holiday trays and cake stands, and a variety of other DIY home décor projects. You’ll also want to shop the retail area of the store for wonderful gifts!

Now to introduce you to the owners! AR Workshop Chandler  is owned and operated by Tanya and Chris Mahaffey.

Tanya is an Arizona native who is ecstatic to be back home sharing her do-it-yourself attitude with the valley of the sun. Tanya’s passion is creativity and crafting. She has brought that passion to ten different military posts over the past 23 years supporting spouses and soldiers in various volunteer positions. Tanya is also a proud mom to two high schoolers-Hannah and Colin– and manages their hectic schedule as they participate in everything from color guard to football to gaming. At the workshop, Hannah is an experienced Workshop Team member and a talented artist, while Colin is a team member-in-training eager to dive in help. As if they needed more to do, Tanya, an avid animal lover, and the rest of the Mahaffey clan, are not complete without their four furry pups and their two prickly hedgehogs.

Chris is a career Army Officer who will soon trade the mud, metal and oil of the Armored Cavalryman for the paint, sawdust, and hammer of being Tanya’s assistant. Chris met Tanya in his hometown of Pittsburgh, PA where they both attended and graduated from Duquesne University. Loyal and persistent, Chris managed to outflank Tanya and solicit the words “I do” back in 1999 and is immensely proud of the family they have built and the adventure they have had. At the workshop, Chris is always good for a war story and enjoys helping others be their best as they create unique projects.

Team Mahaffey is excited to be the new owners of AR Workshop Chandler and to bring their service attitude to the “Work Hard Play Hard” Workshop on Ray Road in Chandler, AZ.
