Kentucky is home to bourbon, horses, and now an AR Workshop! Just outside of Louisville, in the fantastic Norton Commons neighborhood, you will find the new AR Workshop Prospect located at 10618 Meeting Street, Unit 101 in Prospect, KY. Get ready to up your home décor game, because this workshop offers the cutest in wood framed signs, front porch signs and décor, pillows, centerpiece boxes and trays, photo frames, lazy susans, holiday wall hangings, and more!
When AR Workshop Prospect owner Shyloe Luehrs pictured this new adventure of owning her own business, she knew there would be unforeseen challenges and opportunities, but never imagined something like COVID-19 and what that would entail. Shyloe’s background in marketing and specifically event management was a blessing as her experience taught her flexibility and problem solving skills to adjust to new strategies and plans. In the ultimate pivot from the norm, she and her family took to the world wide web and hosted the first ever virtual AR Workshop grand opening to debut the first location in the great state of Kentucky! They had a fantastic response from the local community! Knowing that during this time people are yearning for safe activities, Shyloe and her team are hosting smaller private groups and DIY to Go options.
Shyloe grew up in Upstate New York, but attended Belmont Abbey College outside of Charlotte, NC. It is in Charlotte that she met her husband Greg, and they had their three children. In 2016, Greg’s job brought them to Texas for 18 months, before eventually bringing them to Kentucky in 2018, which they now call home.
Shyloe’s love for DIY developed from her time spent watching her mother craft and seeing all of the fantastic DIY projects she completed before DIY became trendy. She has always been happiest when creating and wanted to develop a space where people can come and experience the same fulfillment.
